Draft a clear response without entering anyone's details

Choose what you need to communicate, who will deliver it and the tone. The tool creates editable starting points; it does not decide whether to accept or decline, issue a religious ruling, or assess whether direct contact is safe.

Temporary browser memory only: choices and drafts are not intentionally submitted to Yahalaly or written to an account, server, cookie, local storage, session storage or the URL. Browser restoration, extensions, screenshots, printing, clipboard history and device features remain outside Yahalaly's control.
Do not add identifying details here: keep names, phone numbers, email addresses, social handles, workplaces, exact locations and another person's private information out of the editable drafts. Personalize only after copying, if that is safe and necessary.
Interactive controls are loading: the choices and safety information remain readable, but generating, editing, copying, sharing and resetting need JavaScript. Nothing has been sent.
Check safety before wording

A polite response template is not a safety plan. Pressure, threats, stalking, blackmail or fear may make direct communication or family mediation unsafe.

1. What do you need to communicate?
2. Who will deliver the response?
3. Choose a tone

Generating again replaces edits currently shown in the three drafts.

Only the blank canonical page URL can be shared from this tool. Choices and drafts are never attached.

Before sending any response

A template is not your decision

Keep only words that are true. A warm tone should not turn a no into maybe, and a firm tone should not add accusations you do not intend to make.

Choose the route freely

Direct, family and intermediary delivery are options, not universal rules. Do not let a messenger replace the adult decision being communicated.

Separate discomfort from danger

Ordinary awkwardness may need clear wording. Pressure, stalking, blackmail, threats or fear calls for an appropriate safety route instead.

Official safety sources and scope

These sources support the separate safety path, not a universal rule for how to word or deliver an ordinary proposal response. Their services and legal context are jurisdiction-specific.

  1. UK Government — Forced marriage guidance

Distinguishes family-assisted arrangements from forced marriage through full and free consent, describes physical, emotional, psychological and financial pressure, and provides Forced Marriage Unit support information.

  2. Germany's Hilfetelefon Gewalt gegen Frauen — Zwangsheirat

Official anonymous and free support for women in Germany, including forced-marriage concerns, with telephone and online help.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool decide whether I should reject a marriage proposal?

No. It helps turn a decision or request you have already chosen into clear wording. It cannot assess another person, decide whether a proposal is suitable, predict an outcome, or tell you whether accepting, pausing or declining is religiously or legally correct in your circumstances.

Does Yahalaly save the response I edit?

The page code keeps choices and drafts in temporary browser memory only. It does not intentionally submit them to Yahalaly or write them to an account, server, cookie, local storage, session storage or the URL. Browser restoration, extensions, screenshots, printing, clipboard history and device features remain outside Yahalaly's control.

Can I use the builder without giving a detailed reason?

Yes. The templates can communicate a pause, question, decision or boundary without listing criticisms of the other person. The tool does not establish what you are obliged to disclose in a particular religious, legal, contractual or safety situation; use appropriately qualified advice where that matters.

What if the person or family will not accept my answer?

The builder includes a short follow-up draft for an ordinary situation. If repeated contact becomes pressure, stalking, blackmail, threats or fear, stop treating it as a wording problem. Avoid direct confrontation or family mediation when that could increase danger, and contact an appropriate local specialist or emergency service.

Is this page only for Muslim women?

No. It is designed women-first because women frequently describe family pressure, guilt and difficulty having a clear answer respected, but any adult can use the ordinary response builder. The tool does not assume that every family-assisted proposal is coercive or that only women experience pressure.

What is included when I share the tool?

Only the blank canonical page URL. Choices and edited drafts are never placed in the shared URL. Copying, printing or manually sharing a draft is a separate action you control, and the receiving app or device may retain it.
